COVID-19: The Neglected Student Perspective
The COVID-19 pandemic has generated a great deal of discussion about what should be
done in schools and universities and the communities where they are located. Young
people are being asked to make difficult choices in their personal lives to protect
themselves and their families and friends. While there are many opinions on these
issues, a critical voice is often left out of mainstream conversations: the perspective
of students.
In this webinar, Professor Arthur Caplan moderates a conversation between high
school and college students about several hot topics related to the pandemic, including
views on vaccines, the expectations placed on students, their experiences over the last
several months, which practices have worked and which ones have not, how the lack of
socializing is impacting their lives, who do they trust in terms of leadership, how they
feel about testing, and of course, your questions.
Presented by NYU Grossman School of Medicine Division of Medical Ethics, The Vaccine Working Group on Ethics and Policy, and VOZ Advisors, Inc. This event was recorded on December 2, 2020.
